Will redaction break my resume formatting?

No. Hirezira edits the document in place: for DOCX it rewrites the underlying text runs, and for PDF it covers the detected fields and rasterizes the affected region so the text is truly gone — not just visually hidden. Layout, fonts, tables and headers are preserved, so the client-ready copy looks identical minus the contact details.

Is the contact information really removed, or just hidden?

Really removed. A black box on a PDF still leaves text that can be copy-pasted. Hirezira removes the text layer for redacted regions so nothing can be recovered from the exported file.
